The Telangana government would institute awards for websites that adhere to guidelines laid out by the Centre and various other best practices prescribed by standards bodies, an official said today.
"Telangana has been a pioneer in implementing e- governance in big way. Since usage of mobiles will go up dramatically in the near future and beyond, we are now taking up m-governance seriously and try to achieve preeminent position in that segment as well," said information technology department principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan.
Offering all the services and information online which were hitherto available offline becomes utmost priority, an official release quoted Ranjan as saying at a workshop here.
"In modern times, websites are the face of the government," the release quoted him as saying.
