Mobile phone operators have objected to the Department of Telecom's move seeking information on call drops that are "not relevant" for the audit process.
"...We request DoT to kindly issue a standard specific requirement of relevant information. Further, we request DoT to instruct the TERM cells not to seek the data from the operators which are not relevant for this exercise that are neither part of nor linked with DoT's letter," industry bodies COAI and AUSPI said in a joint letter.
COAI represents GSM telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Idea Cellular, Uninor, Aircel and Videocon Telecom while AUSPI members include Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices and Sistema Shyam Teleservices.
