Jammu and Kashmir is set to lead the country in nation building as the youth from the state are performing well at national level including in the prestigious civil services examinations, Union minister Jitendra Singh said today.

The Minister of State in PMO was speaking at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony here.

The MoU on 'Tele Education Networks of J&K' was signed between the Development & Educational Communication Unit (DECU), ISRO, Ahmadabad, the Department of Science & Technology, the Department of Higher Education, and the state government at the Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

Singh said that given proper channels and avenues, the state's youth can excel in every field and lead the country on the path of development, progress, growth and success.

"In this era of information technology where the world has shrunk to a global village, the youth need to be connected with the nation to understand the level of competition and aptitude testing standards being followed at diverse platforms," he said.

Highlighting the importance of space technology in reaching the inaccessible and far-off locations, Singh said, "The MoU on Tele Education Networks of J&K is a new paradigm of education for anyone, anywhere, anytime."

He added, "It opens up numerous opportunities both for students as well as teachers for sharing ideas and knowledge, thereby improving lifelong learning skills through easy access to global resources.
