Telugu movie star Balakrishna to contest polls if TDP decides

Telugu movie star Nandamuri Balakrishna said here today that he would abide by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) high command's decision on contesting elections to the legislative Assembly or Lok Sabha.

Movie star Balakrishna is son of the late founder of the Telugu Desam Party and Andhra Pradesh Chief minister N T Rama Rao as well as brother of former Union minister Purandeswari.

Elections will be held in Telangana on April 30 and in Andhra Pradesh on May 7.

Balakrishna, who arrived at Kumari theatre here, where his recently released movie 'Legend' is running successfully, told reporters that he would decide about contesting elections after consulting TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu.
 

When a reporter asked, if he would contest polls from Rajahmundry, he replied, "I will abide by the TDP high command's decision. If the party's high command asks me to contest from here or any place, I am ready to contest. I will take a decison only after consulting TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu".
