Telugu New Year to be celebrated by AP in new capital region

The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to celebrate the Telugu New Year on March 21 at Anantavaram village in Guntur district.

Incidentally, the Telugu New Year celebrations which are to be held at Anantavaram village, falls under the new capital region.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to attend the celebration.

Traditionally, Andhra Pradesh officially conducts its Telugu New Year's celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi auditorium in Hyderabad in every year.

However, after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium is under the control of the Telangana government.

Therefore, the AP government has decided to look for a new place for Telugu New Year celebrations.
 

Accordingly, Andhra Pradesh government's Commissioner of Endowments, J S V Prasada conducted a meeting with district officials here on Friday and finalised the place for the celebrations.
