Temp dips in Punjab, Haryana

Mercury remained below 40 degree Celsius in most parts of the region.

In Chandigarh, maximum temperature was recorded at 35.1 deg C, down by 4 notches below normal, Met officials said.

Maximum decline in mercury was witnessed in Ludhiana, where mercury dropped by nine notches below normal and settled at maximum 33.2 deg C.

Amritsar recorded a maximum of 37.9 deg C, down by three degrees.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 36 deg C, down by four degrees. It was 35.5 deg C, down by 7 points below normal, in Hisar.

While Karnal recorded a high of 36 deg C, it was 40 deg C in Rohtak.
