Mercury remained close to normal limits in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today with humidity prevailing in the region.
The maximum temperature hovered between three degrees Celsius above normal to one notch below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here.
In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Bhiwani was hottest with a high of 40.2 degrees Celsius.

The day temperature in Amritsar was 38.1 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
Chandigarh had a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal.
The MeT has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rains and thundershowers with isolated heavy rains during the coming 48 hours in the region.
