Temperature falls in Raj; Mount Abu shivers at 3.4 degree C

Temperature in various parts of Rajasthan fell due to sudden northerly winds, with Mount Abu recording a minimum temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius.

Mercury also plummeted at Churu, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.7 deg C followed by Sriganganagar at 8.2 and Pilani at 8.8 deg C, Meteorological department said.

It was, however, a pleasant weather in Jaipur with mercury staying between 9 and 11 deg C during the last week.

During the last one month, the weather pattern in the desert state has remained stagnant as temperature remained above normal during the days touching a maximum of 27 deg C.
 

Night temperature in the plains ranged from 8 to 12 deg C.

A western disturbance might lead to a dip in mercury during the coming weekend, a MeT forecast said.
