Temperature hover around normal level in Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperature today hovered around normal level at most places in Punjab and Haryana, a day after vast swathes of the region were lashed by showers.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 36.9 deg C, down three notches, the MeT office said.

Ambala in Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 38 deg C. Karnal's maximum settled at 37 deg C.

The respective maximum temperatures at Hisar and Bhiwani were recorded at 39 deg C and 38.2 deg C, both within the normal range.

Amritsar in Punjab, which was lashed by heavy showers yesterday, recorded a high of 32.6 deg C, down six notches.
 

Ludhiana recorded below normal maximum at 32.7 deg C while Patiala's high was 37.8 deg C.
