Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius while maximum temperature at most places in Punjab and Haryana stayed close to normal today.
In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar registered a high of 37 degrees Celsius and 40.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Karnal's maximum was 37 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 36.4 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperature of 37.1 and 37.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
The MeT department predicted light rain or thunder showers at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab in the next 24 hours.
