Maximum temperatures across Punjab and Haryana today soared with mercury settling upto three notches above normal at most places in the region.
The mercury hovered between three to two degrees Celsius above normal in the region, the MeT office said here.
Ludhiana settled at a high of 36.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal as was Patiala with a high of 36.1 degrees Celsius.

Ambala had a high of 36.1 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal followed by 35.7 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, also three notches above, Karnal at 34.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above, and 34.8 degrees Celsius at Amritsar.
The MeT forecast light to moderate rainfall and thundershowers at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana during the next 48 hours.
