Temperatures drop down as rains lash parts of UP

Rains and thundershowers lashed parts of Uttar Pradesh to fall in day temperatures even as Jhansi was the hottest place in the state at 45.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the MeT Department here, heavy rains and thunder shower took place at isolated places over eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh while light rains/thundershowers occurred at isolated places over western districts.

Dhaurahra and Faizabad received 6 cm of rainfall each, while Faizabad, Chandreepghat, Kakardharighat, Kaiserganj received 4 cm of rainfall, Sidhauli, Basti, Sitapur, Shardanagar, Elgin bridge, Nighasan and Pallia Kalan received 3 cm of rainfall each, it said.

Day temperatures appreciably fell in Varanasi, Faizabad, Kanpur, Lucknow and Gorakhpur divisions.
 

Temperatures rose in Meerut and Moradabad divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.

Jhansi was the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 45.5 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has predicted rain/thunder showers at isolated places in the state for the next couple of days.
