Temperatures hover around normal in Punjab and Haryana

Maximum temperatures hovered around normal today in most parts of Haryana and Punjab with Hisar recording the highest temperature of 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul braved the weather at 36.3, 35.6 and 39.5 degrees Celsius respectively, the MeT department said.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while Ludhiana and Patiala witnessed their maximums at 38.5 and 37.6 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius.

According to the MeT forecast, light rains or thundershowers are predicted at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
