Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department here said.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 36.9 degrees Celsius while Narnaul recorded a high of 35.4 degrees Celsius.
Bhiwani registered a maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius while Hisar's maximum temperature settled at 37 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 35.5 degrees Celsius and 37.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Amritsar's maximum temperature settled at 36.3 degrees Celsius.
Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days, according to the MeT department, which has also issued heavy rain warning for isolated places in the two states during the period.
