Temperatures hover close to normal level in Punjab, Haryana

With rains lashing many places in the region during the past two days, the maximum temperature today continued to remain at normal levels in Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a maximum of 33.7 deg Celsius, the MeT office said here.

Ambala in Haryana recorded a high of 34 deg Celsius. Among other places in the state, Hisar registered a maximum of 34.5 deg Celsius while Bhiwani's high settled at 35.4 deg Celsius.

Karnal recorded a high of 33.2 deg Celsius.

In Punjab, Ludhiana's maximum settled at 33.8 deg Celsius. Amritsar and Patiala recorded respective maximum temperatures of 33.2 deg C and 34.2 deg C.
 

The MeT in its forecast said light to moderate rain may occur at a few places in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow.
