Temperatures hover near normal as rains lashes parts of Pb,Hry

Maximum temperatures today hovered close to normal after rains lashed some parts of Punjab and Haryana today.

Chandigarh received light rains in the afternoon, recording a maximum temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said.

In Haryana, Karnal registered a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius, while Ambala's maximum settled at 37.6 degrees.

Hisar recorded a hot day at 41.1 degrees Celsius.

Among other places which were lashed by rains in Haryana included Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rohtak and Panchkula.

Phagwara, Jalandhar, Mohali and Ropar in Punjab were among other places to be lashed by rain.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius after it was lashed by light rain.
 

Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius each.

According to the MeT forecast, light to moderate rains and thundershowers are likely at a few places in Punjab and Haryana during the next two days.
