Temperatures rise in absence of rain in Punjab, Haryana

With no significant rainfall, hot and humid weather conditions continued to prevail in Punjab and Haryana today.

Hisar in Haryana, which recorded a high of 39.6 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, was the hottest place in both the states, said the MeT Department.

Ambala too had a hot day at 38.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while Karnal's maximum settled at 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, which received scattered rain in the evening, had a hot and humid day at 37.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar braved hot weather conditions with a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
 

Ludhiana and Patiala too recorded above normal maximum temperatures of 37.6 and 37.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
