Temperatures stay close to normal in Punjab & Haryana

Maximum temperatures today hovered around normal level in most parts of Punjab and Haryana.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 39 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department here said.

The mercury in Ambala and Hisar settled at 38.8 and 41.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

Karnal recorded its maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, while Narnaul recorded 40.5 degrees Celsius, one below normal, it said.

Amritsar's maximum temperature was 37.4 degrees Celsius, one below normal. Ludhiana and Patiala recorded their maximum at 38.8 and 39 degrees Celsius respectively, the weatherman said.

The Department has predicted light rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days.
