Temperatures up at many places, but still within normal level

Maximum temperatures today hovered above the 40 degrees Celsius mark at many places in Haryana today, but continued to remain within the normal level, the MeT Department report said here.

Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees Celsius, which was two notches below normal, according to the report.

Narnaul recorded a high of 42 degrees Celsius, which also settled close to normal level while Bhiwani registered a high of 42.6 degress.

Ambala's maximum temperature at 37.3 Celsius settled a notch below normal level.

Chandigarh recorded a high of 37.5 degrees Celsius, also a degree below normal level.

In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4 degrees, down one degree than normal while Ludhiana registered a high of 37.3 degrees, also down by one notch.
 

Patiala recorded a maximum of 39 degrees Celsius.

The MeT has forecast mainly sunny weather in the two states until tomorrow.
