Temple priest looted in Loni

Three armed robbers have allegedly looted 50 thousand rupees, valuables and a scooty from a temple priest in a Loni village in the district, police said here today.

Last night, the armed robbers barged into the Shiv temple in village Gadhi Kattaiya and held captive its Mahant Bal Kishore and his pupil Ullu Baba.

According the the Mahant, the robbers took away gold ornaments, 50 thousand rupees, mobile phones, two cylinders, a inverter and its battery.

"An FIR has been registered and we are verifying the statement of the Mahant," the SHO Singh said.

Police have recovered the scooty and raiding the probable hide outs of the accused. They will be nabbed soon, the SHO added.
