Five days after a man's body was found here with 25 stab injuries, police today arrested his co-worker, who allegedly murdered him to stop his sexual advances, after tracking him down in Uttar Pradesh.

The accused, Shafiq Khan, was nabbed for murdering his colleague Wahab Ali Khan. While Wahab worked as a tempo driver, Shafiq was a cleaner, they said.

On April 30, an unidentified body bearing stab injuries was discovered from a nullah in suburban Malad. Later it was established to be that of Wahab.

During investigation, police found he received maximum phone calls from his co-worker Shafiq. The investigators tracked down Shafiq to Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. He was brought to Mumbai where he was placed under arrest today, police said.

The probe revealed Wahad had forced Shafiq to have sex with him on a number of occasions, they said.

On April 29, Wahab called Shafiq to Malad under the pretext of giving him money since the latter was going to his native place.

During their conversation, Wahab started touching Shafiq inappropriately. An enraged Shafiq attacked Wahab with a knife multiple times and fled, police added.
