A tempo driver has been arrested for allegedly running over a two-year-old girl in Rohini, the police said.
The child died on the spot. Before locals could catch hold of the driver, he fled leaving the vehicle behind. Later, he was arrested and identified as Avdhesh, 28.
The tempo was passing by residential flats in Alipur area. The girl was playing outside her house and was crushed under the rear wheel of the tempo, the police said.

Hearing the girl's cries, the neighbours came out and saw her lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to a hospital where she died.
The owner of the tempo might also be booked since it was often parked and driven around in the residential area.
In another incident, an unidentified man was hit by a vehicle on a flyover in outer Delhi's Samaypur Badli.
The incident was reported yesterday. Many vehicles passed by the man's body but nobody came to his rescue. An autorickshaw driver informed the police about the body lying there, police said.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said they have not found any CCTV footage of the incident and it is not yet known which vehicle hit the man.
