Temporary night shelter for patients' kin created at LNJP

A 40-bedded temporary night shelter for relatives of patients admitted at the LNJP hospital here has been created by paramilitary CISF.

The initiative has been launched by the wives welfare association of the force keeping in mind the prevailing cold weather conditions and the dearth of such facilities.

The tented 'rain basera' (night shelter camp) will have separate enclosures for men and women assistants of patients, a Central Industrial Security Force spokesperson said.

"The shelters have mattresses, bed covers, pillows and quilts for the needy people recommended by the authorities of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayana hospital. Electricity and drinking water facility have been made available in the camp.
 

"Tea and biscuits will be served in the morning hours and the camp will be under the supervision of senior officers," he said.

The camp was inaugurated by the President of the wives welfare association of the force 'Sanrakshika' Gunita Singh and Dr Y K Sarin, LNJP Medical Superintendent.

A similar camp will also be established in the Safdarjung hospital soon, the official said.

The force secures some of the vital installations in the aerospace and nuclear domain along with the Delhi Metro.
