A temporary Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) was inaugurated here today by Central Excise Commissioner Aruna Gupta.

The temporary PSK at CGO Complex Hapur will have four common service counters and one verification counter.

The facility has been extended only to the residents of Ghaziabad and Noida.

"We were getting regular complaints from passport seekers of not getting appointment even after enhancement of number of appointments at Sahibabad-based PSK.

"A total number of 1,395 appointments will be given to the passport applicants in Ghaziabad, of which 250 appointments will be allotted to 'ordinary quota' seekers at Ghaziabad PSK and rest 1145 appointments have been fixed for Sahibabad PSK," Regional Passport Officer Sita Ram Yadav said.

"After completion of bio-metric formalities and scanning of documents, the files will be sent for verification to police authorities," he added.
