Ten child labourers were rescued by an NGO called 'Childline' here today, in a joint operation with the Labour Department from a local printing press situated in Scheme-71 which prints school textbooks.
Instead of reading these school books, the children were unfortunately engaged in printing them at a mere Rs 7 per hour, Childline's local coordinator Manisha Nayak told reporters here today.
Acting on a tip-off, the NGO, along with labour department officials raided the printing press and found ten children in the age group of ten to 14 years old engaged in printing text books, she said.
