Ten injured as bus collides with truck

Ten persons including a woman and a child were injured when a Silchar-bound bus collided with a truck at the Shillong bypass in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi Hills district, the police said.

The incident took place at Dwarksuid area in the district at around noon today, they said.

Drivers of both the vehicles were seriously injured and were admitted to the NEIGRIHMS at Mawdiangdiang near here, a senior district police officer said.

Those injured were identified as Naren Barman, Kiran Rai, Pushpa Vishwas, Kundan Rai, Ratan Kromokar, Gopal Bora, Nandan Rai, Manish Dutta, Riskhen Suting and Nangshi Tongbi Singh and were admitted at Bhoirymbong CHC, he said.
 

Of the ten people injured in the collision, eight were passengers travelling on the bus.
