Ten juveniles escape from govt home

Ten inmates escaped from a government juvenile home here after allegedly assaulting a warden, police said today.

The juveniles, all in the age group of 16-18, made good their escape from the Government Observation Home at Kellys here last night.

They were housed there pending inquiry by the Juvenile Justice Board for several offences.

They assaulted the warden before escaping, a police official with Secretariat Colony police station said.

"The juveniles however did not cause any serious injury," the official said, adding, police were on the look out for them.

An instructor with the Home confirmed the incident adding "they came in a group and assaulted the warden and walked away."
 

Juveniles escaping from the same home has been reported before as well. As of now there are 38 juveniles in the home.
