Ten kg charas seized on Indo-Nepal border

The SSB today seized ten kg charas from near a village on Indo-Nepal border under Mainatand police station area in Bihar's West Champaran district, an official said.

The SSB jawans of 27th battalion seized a consignment of charas between pillar number 414 and 415 near Basantpur village after some unidentified smugglers from Nepal abandoned it upon being detected by the alert jawans and hastily retreated back to the Himalayan country, the SSB unit's deputy commandant Anjay Kumar Rajak said.

The contraband consignment contained in ten packets of half kg each, he said, adding that it was valued at Rs. One crore in the international market.
