Ten student leaders of Congress join BJD

Ten student leaders of Congress, including a former student wing president joined, the ruling party in Odisha today in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.

Welcoming the new entrants, Patnaik said the ruling BJD would be further strengthened with the young leaders joining the party. "They will be great assets for the party," said BJD supremo Patnaik.

The ten leaders included Chinmay Sahoo, former president of Chhatra Congress in Odisha and Prakash Kumar Tripathy who was general secretary of Youth Congress, while Tanmay Swain was national delegate of NSUI.

The other student leaders of Congress who joined the BJD today are Trilochan Behera, Satish Sharma, Pabitra Mohapatra, Mahabir Mohapatra, Bismay Stalin, Satyabrat Mohanty and Smrutiranjan Samal, a BJD release said.
 

The student leaders blamed the Congress leadership for their decision to quit the party and join BJD.

"Congress party has betrayed us. We were neglected and ignored," said Chinmoy Sahoo.
