Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said that the tender for Greenfield airport at Mopa would be finalised by December 2015.

He also assured that infrastructure at Dabolim airport would be reviewed, after the recent incident wherein a false ceiling had collapsed in the newly built terminal.

"It is proposed to issue the Request For Proposal (RFP) (for Mopa airport) and Concession Agreement to the technically qualified bidders in August 2015. The tender is likely to be finalised by December 2015," Parsekar told the State Legislative Assembly during the ongoing session.

He said "Request For Qualification (RFQ) for construction of the proposed Greenfield International Airport at Mopa was floated on October 3, 2014. In response, five interested parties have submitted their technical bids. The evaluation of technical bids is in progress".

The CM was responding to a question tabled by Congress legislator Vishwajit Rane.

He said the evaluation of RFQ applications will be done based on technical criteria and financial threshold.

"The technical criteria comprise development experience in airports and core sector as well as operations experience. Financial threshold comprise minimum net worth of Rs 1,000 crore," Parsekar added.

The international airport is proposed at Mopa in northernmost Pernem tehsil in the state.
