Tension in front of police station after 2 women teachers held

: Tension prevailed in front of a police station here today, following the arrest of two women teachers on charges of alleged harassment to the minor daughter of the District Superintendent of Police.

The SP's mother-in-law, in her complaint alleged that the two techers were harassing and torturing her six-year-old grandaughter, a first grader at Cliffs school, police said.

Based on the complaint, the teachers were taken to police station for questioning in the morning. However when

As they did not return for long, family members, along with their lawyers and that of the school gathered in front of the police station, seeking the reason for the delay
 

However, police registered a case against and brought them out around 6.30 PM, reportedly for producing before the Court for remand, without informing the destination, the family members claimed.

The school claimed the child was not studying properly and was indisciplined and teachers used to attempt to correct her

Even as tension mounted near the police station, the SP did not take phone calls as also other police personnel,while those at the police station remained tightlipped on the issue.

Meanwhile, some political parties raked up the matter in the run up to the LS poll and cited the deteriorating law and order problem and also 'highhandedness' of police.
