Tension in Kokrajhar following killing of two persons

The groups fired on a group of people sitting at a tea-stall near Gangia River bridge at Antihara last night, killing two persons on the spot and injuring three others.

Angry local residents blocked Domota-Bhoraguri road in the district today protesting against the killing and demanded that the miscreants be arrested immediately.

The protestors resorted to stone pelting and the camera of a local journalist was damaged.

Senior police and civil officials rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

The dead have been identified as Nurul Haque and Majibur Rahman while the injured are Hafibur Islam, Fabir Hussain and Hakim Ali who have been shifted to the Bongaigaon Civil Hospital.
