The tenure of senior IAS officer Shantanu Gotmare, Private Secretary to Power Minister Piyush Goyal, was today curtailed by the Centre.
Gotmare, a 2004 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, was in October 2014 appointed as PS to the Minister.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved curtailment of Gotmare's tenure, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said, without citing any reason.
Goyal had sought nominations from young and dynamic IAS officer, preferably with an engineering and management background, for appointment as his private secretary.
He had also asked the interested candidates with "proven integrity" and track record to send their CVs directly to him.
