The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Bengal Chamber today held its first outreach meeting in city for the upcoming World Sustainable Development Summit 2018.

"More outreach meetings will be held in Mumbai, Bangalore beside some few overseas cities. These will help in building agenda for the upcoming summit in February 2018," Teri Director General Ajay Mathur said here today.

The World Sustainable Development Summit, TERI's flagship event, has been conceptualized as a single platform to accelerate action towards sustainable development and especially climate change.

Speaking about the renewables, Mathur said in the next 10 years it is expected that storage battery prices would halve to USD 125-150 for 1 KW/hr which will make renewables at a cost parallel to fossil fuel power.
