Sweden-headquartered TerraNet AB sees India as an entry and target market for its MeshMmedia - an app that enables offline sharing of film and music between mobile devices and tablets.

MeshMedia runs without any of the mobile devices being connected to a Wi-Fi hot-spot, cellular network or any other access point, according to Managing Director of TerraNet India, subsidiary of TerraNet AB, Y R Rao.

"MeshMedia is a proximity service based on discovery of nearby content of music and films that can be viewed directly from the neighbouring devices," he told reporters here.

"TerraNet MeshMedia is a proximal connectivity empowered app that enables offline sharing of film and music between mobile devices," he said.

"India is entry and target market for TerraNet MeshMedia. Google Play is the target platform for MeshMedia," Rao added.

Global brand surveyor YouGov carried out a "product concept evaluation study of MeshMedia" in India in November last year to plan for its deployment, he said.

The survey was conducted with men and women in the age span 15-39 years old. The results for Mesh Media in India are extremely positive, he added.

"TerraNet has the history and domain expertise to help customers accelerate their deployment of proximity aware products," Rao claimed.
