The internal audit conducted by the Ministry of Textiles has raised issues about utilisation of funds by Ahmedabad Textile Industry's Research Association (ATIRA), Parliament was informed today.
In a reply to the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State of Textiles Ajay Tamta said that as per the Management Information System of Integrated Skill Development Scheme, during 2010-11 to 2014-15, ATIRA had claimed to have trained 51,307 people of which 34,736 were placed.
ATIRA is an Industrial Research Institute for Textiles set up in 1949 to help the Indian textile and allied industries become internationally competitive.
