TGB posts net profit of Rs 48 cr till December

Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has made a net profit of Rs 48 crore till December, which is the highest among regional rural banks (RRBs) in the northeastern region of the country, sources in the bank said today.

Last year the bank made a net profit of Rs 68 crore and till December this year the bank posted a profit of Rs 48 crore against its target of Rs 90 crore in the current fiscal, TGB chairman Upendra Sabar told reporters.

"Among 82 rural banks in the country, our bank made the highest profit for the last two consecutive years and we will do our best to achieve our target," Sabar added.
 

The Tripura Gramin Bank has 136 branches across the state and is the first rural bank in the eastern zone which introduced Aadhar enabled payment in different schemes like old age pension and the business correspondent model, he said.

The credit-deposit (CD) ratio of the bank stood at 41 per cent, he added.
