The Good Life Company (TGL), a luxury start-up tea company offering over 300 varieties of blends, today said it has raised USD 1 million in their first round of funding.
The company is planning to use this fund for expanding its existing operations from Mumbai to tier I cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata and to overseas markets like the US, UK, Singapore and the Middle East, TGL said in a release.
The funds are raised from restaurateur Abu Farhan Azmi and his wife Ayesha Takia Azmi.

Private insurer PNB MetLife along with its partner Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) has announced the launch of JKB Family Protection Savings Bank Account.
JKB Family Protection Savings Bank Account is a savings bank account with an element of protection built in, PNB MetLife said in a release.
"Digitisation is providing a huge impetus to financial inclusion. However, to deepen the impact and reach in challenging terrains such as Jammu and Kashmir, customised platforms and propositions are required. Custodial services provider Orbis today announced the induction of two new members to its board - U R Bhat and Rajesh Narain Gupta as independent directors.
Bhat is an investment manager having managed foreign institutional investments in Indian equities for more than two decades, while Gupta is the managing partner at legal firm SNG Partners.
"Their (new directors) commitment will be key to the development of our business, and with the two experienced directors, Orbis is set to create higher benchmarks for the industry," Orbis chairman and managing director Atul Gupta said.

Real estate developers Godrej Properties (GPL) today said it has partnered with Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris to develop a hotel at its flagship project, The Trees here.
The Taj at The Trees will offer about 150 rooms and suites along with dining, entertainment, and conferencing facilities, a release said.
"We are thrilled to partner with Taj to create a luxury hotel at our flagship project. Our endeavour is to make The Trees India's most exciting mixed-use development and this partnership is an important milestone towards that goal," Godrej Properties Executive Chairman Pirojsha Godrej said.
