Thai TV reporter killed in car accident near Dhanbad

The car carrying the two Thai nationals, identified as Nimit Jitrainon and Teeti Srijan, and two other persons was en route to Gaya from Kolkata when it hit a bridge railing near Madaidih village, about 45 km from here, they said.

They were rushed to Topchachi primary health centre from where they were referred to Pataliputra Medical College Hospital here.

While Jitrainon, a resident of Bangkok, was declared brought dead, Teeti and the two others were admitted to Dhanbad hospital, police said.

The Thai nationals were reporters of Thailand's private TV channel 'PVX' TV and were going to Gaya to cover Buddha Jayanti from May 4 to 6, Dhanbad sub-divisional officer L N Mahto said. PTI CORR BS PC
