Thane builder murdered

A local builder was today murdered in broad daylight by three unidentified persons near here, police said.

Manoj Jaiswal was sitting in his office at Ganesh Nagar after completing his 'Gudi Padwa' (Maharashtra New Year) pooja when he was attacked by three unidentified persons wielding sharp-edged weapons, they said.

The 42-year-old property developer was seriously injured in the attack and died in the way while being rushed to state-run JJ Hospital in Mumbai, police said.

The assailants managed to escape from the spot.

An offence under IPC Section 302 (murder) has been registered by Kalyan taluka Police, which have launched a manhunt to nab the killers.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Orbit Corporation rebutted the allegations that the firm misappropriated funds.

"All the money that was received was spent on the project," the company said in a statement here.
