City Mayor Sanjay More has ordered Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to take up survey of residential buildings afresh to identify them as 'dangerous' and 'most dangerous' ahead of the monsoon season.

The order was issued yesterday after discrepancies emerged in the last year's survey report, conducted by TMC.

According to More, he received several complaints from residents that the civic body had sent out notices to such buildings which was not on the list of 'dangerous and most dangerous'.

A similar complaint was also received from Shiv Sena corporator from Wagle Estate ward that buildings in a good state were issued notice for its residents to evacuate them.

The mayor said after getting complaints, he took up the matter with TMC officials, who admitted that the survey was botched up and some buildings were wrongly demarcated under 'dangerous' and 'most dangerous' category.
