Thane teen killed in Nashik

A 16-year-old boy from Thane district of Maharashtra was killed after a group of unidentified persons allegedly assaulted him in Upnagar here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening when the vicitm, Tushar Sabale, a resident of Kasara in Thane, was at his relative's place in Gasavi Nagar in Upnagar locality when a group of unidentified people assaulted him near the house, Upnagar police station in-charge Bajirao Mahajan said.

According to Mahajan, there were around four-five persons who arrived in a four-wheeler and took the victim out of the house before attacking him in the parking lot of the residential building.
 

The miscreants fired a round at him with a country made pistol and attacked him with a sharp object.

Upon receiving information, Upnagar police rushed to the spot and took the victim to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to a private hospital in Nashik Road locality, the official said.

Tushar was declared brought dead at the private hospital, he said.

Police have launched an extensive search and have set up two police teams to nab the assailants. One team was dispatched to Kasara, while another towards Shirdi, he said.

Police is ascertaining the reason behind the attack and have lodged a case under IPC section 302 (murder) rw 34 (common intention) in this connection.
