Thane tehsildar, aide caught accepting Rs 10 lakh bribe

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught Thane tehsildar and a private person for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh for granting NA permission for land, an official said today.

The tehsildar, Kisan Bhadane (41), was trapped along with a private person, identified as Ram Ugale (31), this evening, ACB's Thane range DSP ACB Sangramsinh Nishandar said.

The complainant had approached the ACB on October 12 stating that Bhadane has been demanding money to grant NA permission for a piece of land in Kashi village in Thane taluka.

According to Nishandar, the official accepted the bribe money through Ugale.
 

The offence is being registered and further investigation into the case is on.
