Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today termed as "unfortunate" Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's "Hindu Pakistan" remark and claimed it showed the "double standards" of the Congress.
Tharoor has kicked up a huge row with his remarks that if voted to power again, the BJP will rewrite the Constitution and pave the way for creation of a "Hindu Pakistan".
"This statement of Shashi Tharoor is unfortunate and shows double standards of Congress," Tomar ,who is Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Mines minister, said.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of National Conclave on Mines and Minerals.
A livid BJP came out strongly against Tharoor's comments, demanding that Congress president Rahul Gandhi apologise as his party leader had "attacked Indian democracy and Hindus".
