According to a release by Tharoor's constituency office here today, the facility was sanctioned in response to a large number of requests received from Thiruvananthapuram.
A large number of candidates sitting for the all-India examination from Thiruvananthapuram and nearby areas had been requesting for a 'pen and paper-based examination centre' at Thiruvananthapuram, the release said.
The Centre had earlier sanctioned the only such centre in Kerala at Kozhikode leaving the candidates from his Lok Sabha seat Thiruvananthapuram no choice but to take the examination examination online.
