Milo Ventimiglia said at a time when television is dominated by stories about crime, war and scandal, getting an opportunity to play a good guy in "This Is Us" was too special to miss.
The actor has charmed the audiences with his portrayal of Jack, the Pearson family patriarch in the drama series, which sees Mandy Moore play his wife Rebecca, Sterling K Brown (his adopted son Randall), Chrissy Metz (his daughter Kate) and Justin Hartley (his son Kevin).
"I think in the current television landscape we have you have war, crime and scandal. I like the fact that there was some goodness in this man and in this show and in these characters that we're meeting in the first episode," Ventimiglia said in a release.

"I try to be a kind, honest man. But I'm also a human being. I don't have any kids, I'm not married but I think if I was I would hopefully be as enamored with my wife and kids as Jack is with his."
The first season of "This Is Us" aired last September and immediately garnered praise and eventually ended up getting multiple nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards to be held on September 17.
The family drama is being called the next big thing on TV. But Ventimiglia is not feeling any pressure.
"I think there's an anticipation which is exciting but I don't feel the weight of having to perform. I feel like we just get to show up, do our jobs, enjoy ourselves and then hand it over to the audiences. Hopefully they're all on board," he said.
The chemistry between Ventimiglia and Moore has been hailed by fans and the actor said there is no put on and everything comes naturally between them.
"She's a kind soul and incredible performer and very dedicated to her work, as I am mine. So we both came together and said look, let's make these character alive, let's make them real and from action to cut we're husband and wife."
"This is Us" season 2 premieres in India on September 30 on Star World & Star World HD.
