An accused in 27 theft cases
reported in various parts of coastal Karnataka has been arrested from Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, police said.
The accused has been identified as Balasubramanian, who was arrested in 2010 with gold worth 24 lakh seized from him. He later managed to secure bail and was absconding, police said.
On a tip-off, Bantwal police tracked him at Tirunelveli and arrested him.
He was later produced before the local magistrate court and was remanded to judicial custody.
