Theft in temple: Gold, silver worth Rs 35 lakh stolen

The robbery took place yesterday in Narayan temple in Hurba village in Rupi Panchayat, they said.

The thieves broke open locks of the temple doors and decamped with cash and gold and silver ornaments amounting to Rs 35 lakh.

The robbery came to light this morning when villagers came to offers prayers in the temple.

A case had been registered and investigations were on, they said.
