Theme song of National Games released

The theme song of the 35th National Games, composed by famous singer and composer Hariharan, was formally released by Kerala Chief MinisterOommen Chandy, at a function held at Chandrashekharan Nair stadium, here today.

The promotional video starring the Games' Goodwill Ambassador and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was released by Sports Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

Kerala is hosting the games to be held from January 31 to February 14.

The song has been composed embodying the larger theme of national integration, sportsman spirit and the country's youthful exuberance.

The three-minute song which has a mix of languages -- Hindi, Malayalam and English -- has been penned by the famous Urdu poet and Bollywood lyricist Javed Akthar.
 

The song reasserts the nation's expectation on its youth and glorifies and the potential of sports and games in making lives brighter.

Renowned personalities such as KJ Yesudas, Salim Merchant, Shreya Ghoshal, Benny Dayal, Shwetha Mohan along with Hariharan will give their voice to the song.

It has also been tailor-made to 180 seconds', 45 seconds' and 15 seconds' variants to suit the time slots of various channels and media, officials said.
