Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday said there is no alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He was speaking at a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) OBC Morcha here.
"In the opposition parties, everyone is claiming to be the next prime minister. But the alternative to Modi is Modi only," he said.
Maurya also hit out at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for using temples to win votes.
"Kanwar Yatra was not allowed during the regime of Akhilesh Yadav, the devotees of Lord Ram were sprayed with bullets and seers baton-charged. Today Akhilesh Yadav is talking about constructing a temple for Lord Vishnu," the deputy chief minister said.
Attacking the Congress chief, he said, "Rahul Gandhi is moving from one temple to another for photo sessions. If he is asked to recite the 'Hanuman Chalisa', he will not be able to do it. Congress is a drain of corruption and a machine of lies".
